SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INVESTING

 

 

Another term that begs consistent definition, Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) generally refers to the practice of financial investing only in firms that work positively to improve human health, reduce environmental impact, and that contribute to the communities in which they operate. Several advocacy organizations and mutual funds offer SRI criteria and investments. Their screening criteria thus can serve as a measure of a company's sustainability performance.

The Social Investment Forum, for example, screens companies on the basis of the following criteria:
